UKHRUL| Aug 23: The two-day literary meet of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Ukhrul, concluded on August 22.

The literary meet was held under the theme of ‘Nurturing Talents’; and during the event, students exhibited their talents in singing (Duet), extempore speech, quiz and choir singing competitions. Besides that, a debate on the topic of ‘Imparting bookish knowledge is sufficient in the school’ was also conducted.

In the senior category of the drawing competition, Leiyaphy Phungshok, Hokhuimi Vashi and Rashing RVS were declared as winners of the first, second, and third position respectively; while Alison Chawung,  Reyami Chahongnao and Soshimla Khansu were declared the first, second and third position winners respectively in essay competition.

The debate competition witnessed Yoyari Abonmai securing the top position while Worchuirin Ahum and Chaimipei Langkham were declared as winners of the second and third positions respectively. While the Green House of the school was declared as the winner in the choir singing competition, Red House and Yellow House bagged second and third position respectively.

The winner of extempore speech competition was accorded to Mungchuingam RK while Chuimeipei Langkham and Ramchuishan Shimrang secured the second and third position respectively. And in the duet competition, Reyami Chahungnao and Soyaphi Hungyo were declared as joint winners while Isvik Chawung and Bernice Mashangva came in second position and Alice Thingshung and Ramsem Raikhan secured the third position. In the quiz competition, Red House secured the first and second position and the third position went to Yellow house.

In the junior category of the drawing competition, Horyao Khongreiwoshi, Hirahor Thingshung and Mashunring Keishing were declared as first, second and third positions holders respectively; while the essay competition witnessed Soreiphy Kamodang and Sojuila Luiram being declared first and second position holders respectively with the third position being  jointly shared by Wintamah Muinao and Maxis Muinao. In the debate competition, Soyarin Athary, Peipiso Hungyo and Sonror Ningshenni were declared the first, second and third position respectively; and the quiz competition witnessed Red House, Yellow House and Blue House being declared the first, second and third position respectively.

The winners of the extempore speech competition went to Sojuila Luiram, Maxis Muinao and Mathingrik who were declared the first, second and third position respectively; while Huimichon Shimrang, Peimi AS and Ningshichon Awungshi won the first, second and third position respectively in the Solo competition. The declamation competition witnessed Soyarin Athary and Mayingrik Seipainao bagging the first and second positions respectively while the third position was jointly shared by Sonia Hungyo and Chirya Chawung. In the duet competition, Sorinphy Kamodang and Somithan Sayai bagged the first position while Peimi AS and Songachan Horam took the second position while the third position was bagged by Leishipem Wungkhai and Horshon Mashangva.

The competitions were held in House-Wise manner; and it may be reiterated that the literary meet provided an important platform for the students to exhibit their talents and skills.
