RN Ravi

DIMAPUR | Jul 21: The central headquarters of Naga People’s Front (NPF) while congratulating RN Ravi on his new assignment as the Governor of Nagaland has expressed hope that “with the new development an amicable and acceptable solution to the Naga political problem is not far away”.

The NPF also appreciated the central government for appointing a “person in the like of Ravi who is well versed with the Naga people particularly a man who is working closely with the Naga political issue”.

However, the NPF appealed the centre that Ravi’s new assignment should not hamper the on-going dialogue between the Government of India and the “Naga political groups but expedite and bring solution at the earliest”.

Ravi who is the interlocutor on Naga talks and is closely associated with the Naga political issue and is now assigned with the new office, the NPF sought the wisdom of both the Government of India and the “Naga groups” to resolve the Naga political issue at the earliest.

“Ravi’s appointment should not delay the solution in any way but be another milestone in bringing solution, which is a long felt desire of the Naga people for decades”, the NPF further expressed.

The NPF “reiterates and avows” its stand that the Naga political issue has been the top most priority of the party since its inception and that remain unchanged. The NPF expressed that it has high expectation from the New Delhi that it will not play any delay tactics but give a sincere effort for the resolution of the Naga political issue.

According to the NPF, the Naga people hope that through Ravi the aspiration of Nagas will be met “because of his long interaction and close association with all the negotiating groups on behalf of the Nagas including all civil societies covered by all Naga areas regardless of political boundaries”.

“Therefore, the NPF appeals the New Delhi that sending Ravi to Nagaland as a constitutional head and interlocutor should create a better co-relation to hammer out solution to the vexed Naga political problem”, the NPF added.
