UKHRUL| Sep 16: Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Joseph Pauline Kamson today launched the Ayushman Bharat Pakhwada scheme at a programme held at the office complex of Mini Secretariat located at Hamleikhong, Ukhrul.
The programme was organised to mark the completion of one year of the national flagship scheme in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Joseph Pauline Kamson urged the Health department to deliver comprehensive health in all health sub-centres or wellness centres in the district. “The health scheme is not only for treating sickness, but also to keep the people healthy and provide all round physical development,” he said.
CMO of Ukhrul, Dr. Kapangring Shimray highlighted the various activities to be taken up under the Ayushman Bharat Pakhwada scheme which included ICE campaigns, awareness banners in market places about the health scheme, and its facilities and observances of World Alzheimer’s and Heart Days along with organising health camps, and screening of sugar and BP levels amongst others.
As a part of the Ayushman Bharat Pakhwada observation, Joseph Pauline Kamson flagged off a Walkathon rally which commenced from Mini Secretariat Complex and converged at TNL Ground. The rally witnessed the participation of Asha workers, felicitators and elders.
