Rocklore 2018, the 5th edition of North East Indigenous Music Festival brought nine bands from across the North East and one from Pune to entertain Dimapurians at Don Bosco Institute Hall, Dimapur, Thursday.
Opening the concert was Frozen Hearts, a rock band from Dimapur taking the stage after a hiatus of six years. Followed by Brainstorm Island, a cross genre band from Kohima. Shape A Shade, the Indo German duo from Dimapur performed two acoustic sets. Ambush, regarded as the voice of the voiceless with their hard hitting lyrics, entertained the crowd. Manipur’s Lo Peninsula, a three piece band presented two original songs.

Ukhrul is all geared up to celebrate World Music Day on 21st June at Ukhrul Town Hall starting from 1.00 pm onwards. The event, with the theme 'Music for Living', is initiated by Ukhrul Music Organization (UMO) and powered by Tangkhul Music Forum (TMF).
The event will witness the performance of various popular artists and bands from Ukhrul.

4th Element, a band based in Shillong, will represent India at the Belize International Jazz Festival at Belize, Central America this year.

The festival is set to begin on June 16 and will conclude on June 24.

The five-member band comprises of Ribor Mb, Sam Shullai, Amit Mullick, Jeffrey Laloo and Amabel Susngi.

Bands from all over the world will take part in the jazz festival. Countries Mexico, Hungary, Quba, USA, and Belize itself will showcase their own bands at the festival.

In the backdrop of the recent incident of mob lynching at Karbi Anglong and the rise of the forwarded fake and rumors messages on social media, Dreamz Unlimited have come up with a satirical video to take on such forwarded fake messages.

One may recall that in the recent few weeks, fake messages of child traffickers were doing rounds across the Northeast. There were cases of catching people (just because they look different from us) accusing them of child lifters in Nagaland and in an unfortunate case in Karbi Anglong, Assam, two promising youths were killed by mobs thinking they were child lifters.

Contemporary Christian Gospel artist James Basnet is out with his new single. Titled ‘Fire’ the sneak peek of the video reveals a different side of the artist and has created much buzz already. The single is from his next album in the making which is being recorded in Yellow Box Studio, Singapore.

The music for ‘Fire’ was edited and mixed by Singapore’s music producer/composer Clement Chow and produced by Thomas Varghese. It was mastered by the Grammy Award Winning engineer – Smith Carlson & Producer/Singer Collin McLoughlin.

James Basnet & team have acknowledged all who were instrumental in the making of this video also Kethobo (Pro Driver) for the sound and lights and Sanen of SAN productions for the video.

US singer Nicky Jam posted the video for "Live It Up,” the 2018 FIFA World Cup official song, on his YouTube channel on Friday.

The video features views of Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, goal celebrations from the previous World Cups and the fans of the participating national teams. Former Brazil star Ronaldinho also appears in the video.

The video gained over 70,000 views in less than an hour since its release.

After a long break ANTB (Alobo Naga & the band) is back with a new single ‘Come Back Home’ mixed and mastered by the famous American guitarist Neil Zaza.

Interestingly the song was recorded from different recording studios. Initially they did the voice, synth and the guitars from Element Indie records, later they recorded the guitars and bass from New Life Studio and end up at Jam Studio 11 to record acoustic drums and send it the audio Kitchen, Akron, Ohio USA for mixing and mastering.

UKHRUL | Apr 29 : Heavy metal band Queensryche performed for the first time in India at the closing day of ShiRock, a mega rock event of Shirui Lily Festival 2018 at Bakshi Ground, Ukhrul on April 28.

Thousands of music lovers thronged the venue for ShiRock and the band hit the stage at around 9:30 pm and continued rocking till midnight to a crowd of 30,000 people. The ecstatic fans swayed to the music of Queensryche.

Winner of rock band competition of ShiRock 2018, “Reverse Tragedy” from Mizoram opened the stage for Queensryche. The band was crowned as the king of ShiRock 2018 and walked away with a cash prize of Rs.10 lakh. Avora Records from Mizoram and Ambush from Assam shared the first runners up with a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh and Dream Streets from Manipur and Jammers Graveyard from Assam were declared the joint second runners up which carried a cash prize of Rs. 2.5 lakh.

Assamese music video ‘Goru Bihu Song’, directed by Axl Hazarika, has been selected to be officially screened at one of the largest international film festivals in Europe – 47th Sehsüchte, which will take place from 25th to 29th of April 2018 at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF housed at Babelsberg Film Studio, the oldest large-scale film studio in the world, producing films since 1912.

Hundreds of Hollywood blockbuster films, including Fritz Lang’s Metropolis and Josef von Sternberg’s The Blue Angel were filmed here. More recent productions include V for Vendetta, The Pianist, Captain America Civil War, Æon Flux, The Bourne Ultimatum, Valkyrie, Inglourious Basterds, Cloud Atlas, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Hunger Games, etc.
