Manipur Lok Sabha outer candidate of North East India Party (NEIDP), Asang Kasar today stated that no FIR was lodged against NSCN-IM in connection with the April 6 incident though the party strongly condemned the act.
He was speaking at a press conference held at the head office of the party located at Sagolband Tera Sapam Leirak, Imphal West.
It may be mentioned that on April 6, a public meeting attended by village chiefs and many people was held at a community hall in Senapati bazaar. In the midst of the programme, some individuals approached and allegedly demanded that the programme must be stopped as no prior permission was sought from them.
After the programme ended, the same individuals who were waiting for Asang, reportedly threatened him for organising the occasion without their consent and even allegedly tried to take him along with them.
Asang said, due to the situation on that day he headed towards Senapati SP and made a verbal complaint. He also sought for additional escort upto Kangpokpi. Regarding the incident, he and the party did not file any FIR against any individual including NSCN-IM, he added.
In connection with the incident, some people have spread rumours against him and his party, and tried to mislead the people including other political parties, he said. He further said NEIDP and NPF are regional parties, and do not want to have any misunderstandings between the parties as both works for regionalism.
He appealed the people not to believe in what is being spread in social media it could be fake.
