IMPHAL | Jul 8: Peace and Development Coordinating Committee (PDCC) Haraorou today warned of closing all BJP offices in Khundrakpam assembly constituency if Rajya Sabha MP, Kshetrimayum Bhabananda fails to start developmental works in the constituency within 10 days.
Speaking to media at Manipur Press Club, secretary of PDCC, Hemjit Thongam appealed to the MP to be honest while making claims about funds and development activities meant for public.
He informed that the committee on June 28 alleged former MP Bhabananda through media for misusing the local area development funds for the constituency amounting to Rs. 50 lakhs, meant for construction of Shelter for Animals at Haraorou, Pond at Ngairangbam, community pond, piggery shed, aquaculture and fencing at Haraorou and road construction at Morok Inkhol.
But after three days the former MP and deputy commissioner Imphal East made a clarification claiming that the funds were allocated for Wakha village instead of Khundrakpam. In contrary to their claims, Wakha Youth Club and Wakha Women Development Association on July 5 denied that they did not receive any such facilities as claimed by the deputy commissioner and the Member of Parliament (MP).
