Twenty-seven individuals, including 19 men and 8 women, who are set to travel from Imphal to London covering 18 countries in a self-drive road expedition spanning 50 days was flagged off today from Classic Grande hotel, Chingmeirong Imphal.

Maj general KP Singh, IGAR (South) flagged off the trip, which will cover a distance of 16,000 kilometers. The team had one Guinness World record and 15 Limca book of records for long driving expedition. It is the third time Adventures Overland is organising this trip after completing Road to London expeditions in 2017 and 2018.

In the past they have also led expeditions in Russia, Iceland, South America, Jordan, Alaska and Road to Bangkok.

Co-founder of Adventure Overland, Sanjay Madan, speaking to the media before the flag off said, “We share a common love for travel. Now we are getting to share the joy of travelling with our participants providing a niche and classy experience in a secure environment.”

He said they conduct a thorough background check along with their experience to ensure that everyone has a good time. “We ensure an experienced local guide in travelling with the group at all hours to ensure personal safety, smooth communication and travel”, he added.

“Every single route of our journey has been driven on and vetted to ensure that the travel is seamless. We take charge of documentation, paperwork, visas and permits to ensure that the entire focus is on experiencing the journey”, added co-founder adventure Overland, Tushar Agrawal.

The participants will be driving through challenging terrains, off beat tracks, mountain passes and expressways to reach British capital. The group includes enthusiasts from Delhi, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Chennai, Zirkapur Mumbai and United Kingdom.

On their way the participants will be visiting the 11th and 12th century temples and pagodas in Myanmar, the Great Wall of China at the Jiayuguan Pass, historic cities of Tashkent and Samarkand in Uzbekistan.

They will also travel through the ancient Silk Route in Central Asia to the futuristic Autobahn in Germany, and pass through long stretches of road, before crossing the English Channel to reach London.

Adventure Overload will be also organising the trip once again in 2020 for the fourth consecutive year.
