In view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election 2019, United Naga Council (UNC) interacted with leaders of Tamenglong civil organisations at Shekinuh Inn Tamenglong today.
President of UNC, Kho John; chairman of Committee for Alternative Arrangement (CFAA), Ashinpou Gangmei; convener of Human Rights Manipur South, Joyson and secretary (Education), All Naga Students’ Association Manipur (ANSAM), Newman spoke on the occasion and expressed that it is time to wake up with a realisation that Manipur Nagas must have one MP at Delhi this time.
All speakers spoke about how Nagas were treated under divide and rule policies and also highlighted various problems faced by Naga people and said that it would be appropriate to vote for Naga People Front as their manifesto has in the interest of the Naga people.
Civil organisation leaders of Tamenglong including women wing leaders around 60 attended the consultative meeting with tribal Hohos.
The programme was organised by four tribe councils of Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei and Inpui Naga Union.
