A total of over 74% in Arts and Commerce streams and 81.37% in Science stream have qualified the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Class 12) Exams 2019 declared on May 2.

The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) conducted the exam between February 12-March 4 this year.

With a total marks of 472 or 94.40%, Imtijungla Pongen of Christian Hr.Sec.School, Dimapur topped the Arts stream while Shingke Poangmai C of MGM Hr Sec School,Dimapur and Melody Singsit of CHSS, Dimapur stood second and third respectively.

Suhana Begum of MGMHSS with 480 marks or 96.00% topped the Commerce stream. Imnatoshi T Longchar of Holy Cross Hr Sec School Dimapur and Nikita Dey of Pranab Vidyapith Hr.Sec.School,Dimapur were declared 2nd and 3rd.

In Science stream, Ananya Kumar Das of St.John Hr.Sec.Residential School,Dimapur with 473 marks (94.60%) topped exam while Leah Pathan Khan of Pranab Vidyapith Hr.Sec.School,Dimapur and Eric Yanthan of Queen Mary Hr.Sec.School,Mokokchung secured the second and third positions.

According to an NBSE overview, girls outshine boys in overall top positions as well as overall results with 25 of them securing the top 10 positions against 10 boys.
