UKHRUL | Apr 11 : Tangkhul Frontal Organisations has resolved to bar the entry of Forest minister, Th. Shyamkumar in the Tangkhul inhabited area as the timber ceased by the Forest department has not been released unconditionally by April 10.

In second such case of ‘moral policing’ in Assam, a married woman was stripped and beaten up at Baksa district here over her alleged affair with another man. Five persons, including four women, were arrested in this connection, Superintendent of Police Binoy Kalita said.

Kokrajhar: National Democrtaic Front of Boroland-Progressive(NDFB-P) has strongly criticized Kiren Rijiju two days after the Union minister of home spoke of differences among the surrendered rebels.

An Algerian military plane crashed and caught fire today killing 257 people, mostly army personnel and members of their families, officials said.


An AFP photographer at the scene saw the charred wreckage of the plane in a field near the Boufarik airbase from where the plane had taken off.


Hundreds of ambulances and dozens of fire trucks with their sirens wailing rushed to the scene of the crash about 25 kilometres southwest of Algiers.
