The tourists were four students from Golaghat Commerce College namely Arpan Saikia 22, Sonu Das 23, Himanshu Dutta 22 and Rahul Dhar 23. They had entered Dzukou from Vizwema entry point and were returning towards Jakhama entry point when an overflowing river prevented them from crossing to the other side.
