CorCom and ULFA (I) call to boycott I-Day

IMPHAL | Aug 10 : Co-Ordination Committee (CorCom) and United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) (ULFA-I) has called for the boycott of India’s 72nd Independence Day 2018.

A release signed by media coordinator, CorCom, Leibaakngakpa Luwang stated that the Fraternal Revolutionary Parties of Western South East Asia (WESEA) region resist with liberation war when sovereignty is being attacked to promote the Indian empire, at the behest of the rulers who live on the spoils of an unjust war on the people. The Indian colonial war causes insurmountable human toll and WESEA has today become a battlefield where thousands of Indian occupational war bastions exist, it said.

Asserting that India deploys at least a million strength occupational force organized into various overt and covert organizations, the release stated that the oppressed peoples of WESEA could not enjoy respite from these criminals who enjoy impunity under Black and Draconian Laws such as National Security Act and Armed Forces Special Powers Act. It further alleged India of not only violating the Geneva Convention of 1949 in dealing with revolutionary army but also for unleash organized terrorism upon civilians while adding that the lawbreakers pose the biggest threat to humanity and basic human rights in WESEA.

The release further accused the Indian Colonial Rule in WESEA of displaying devilish policy of transplantation of millions of colonial settlers to uproot indigenous peoples of their rights arid cultural identities systematically. Colonial settlers have numerically supplanted indigenous population in Tripura, metropolitan regions of Assam and other cities such as Dimapur and Imphal, it said adding that the colonial settlers are systematically taking control over the indigenous people through disingenuous economic, political and cultural strategies.

Indian colonial rule in WESEA keeps the indigenous people in a state of perpetual oppression and servitude while WESEA becomes a lucrative commodity market of Indian entrepreneurs, the release continued adding that the region has also became a militarily protected economic zone of organized loot and legalized plunder. In WESEA, internationally accepted human rights conventions and rights of indigenous peoples amongst others are always violated and all these exemplify the destructive trend of Indian colonial rule that came into existence since the collapse of British India in 1947, the release contended. India subjugates, oppresses and exploits the peoples of WESEA and is an obstruction to peace, security, democratic order, development and progress, it said adding that India pursues in waging unjust war or genocide and promotes its own version of colonial empire in Asia.

As a mark of solidarity against Indian occupation, the revolutionary organisations are jointly calling for the boycott of Indian’s Independence Day celebration in the region on August 15, the release said. It further stated that a total shutdown will be observed effective from 1:00 am to 6:30 pm in the entire region of WESEA. All emergency services including medical, media, religious and flood relief activities are excluded from the purview of the bandh, it added.
