KANGPOKPI | May 16 : Civil voluntary organisations, elected representatives, elected councillors and Kuki Inpi of Kangpokpi district today held a joint meeting to review the resolutions adopted on May 12 at the conference hall of Autonomous District Council Sadar Hills, Kangpokpi.
During the meeting, it was unanimously reaffirmed its stance on district boundary issue and reiterated that no inch of the existing boundary shall be divided or infringe under any circumstances.
It also said that the people of Kangpokpi district uphold the existing boundary covered under Sadar Hill Autonomous District Council as passed by the cabinet during the tenure of former chief minister, W. Nipamacha Singh, which is till upheld by the government.
It continued that considering the aforesaid facts, the District Boundary Commission has to work on the boundary of newly created districts which need no review or redraw of the boundary of Kangpokpi.
“Any attempt to infringe the existing boundary of Kangpokpi will be opposed tooth and nail by the people”, it added.
The joint meeting minutely deliberated on the issue of some government offices and properties under Kangpokpi district which still bears the name of Senapati district. It ultimately decided to urge the government to change all such government office and properties in the district.
It also cautioned that no government offices, structures or properties within the district shall be moved or taken away to other districts or somewhere else under any circumstances.
