Chief minister, N. Biren stated concerning the recent case of looting at NH-37 by militant groups, while speaking to media persons during the launching function of Imphal-Moreh and Imphal-Tamenglong helicopter services
He further assured that he has already directed to launch a mass combing operation in the said area by a combine team of state and central forces to nab the culprits.In order to deploy highway protection force, the committee for the recruitment of IRB personnel for two new battalions is formed and notification for the recruitment will be published within two or three months, he added.
After the successful launching of Imphal- Jiribam helicopter services by the state government, the helicopter services of Imphal-Moreh and Imphal-Tamenglong was launched today by CM at Imphal International Airport.
Speaking to media persons during the launching function, Biren said the service will give convenience mostly to the old aged people and patients and for fast and easy travel as well as also for emergency matters.
Such easy means of connectivity will also help in bringing the sense of belongingness and oneness among the people of the state, he added.
Asserting that the state government will launch the helicopter services wherever there is a necessity, he announced that the government is planning to launch the same at Senapati, Ukhrul and Churachandpur.
He further announced that the government will be launching ‘(flying doctors) air ambulance service’ within one and half month, the chief minister said it will end the inconvenience faced by the people residing in interior areas of the state at the time of medical emergency.
Considering the love, interest and passion for sports by the people of the state, the Centre has approved of opening a sports medicine unit in RIMS, said Biren.
Our Tamenglong correspondent has added that the first day of Helicopter service operated by Pawanhans, was witness by 23rd Assam Rifle Commandant Raj Kumar, Superintendent of Police Ningshem Vasum, SDO Tamenglong Kachamthai Faiga Gangmei, SDC Tamenglong HQs. Namlalung Gangmei and SDPO Tamenglong Josiah Pamei and Fire Brigade team and medical team led by chief medical officer, Tamenglong Dr chambo Gonmei.
Carrying six passengers including one infant, (two women and three male) take off at around 10 am from Assam Rifle helipad. The fare between Tamenglong and Imphal was Rs. 2000 (two thousand only).
In the meantime speaking to this reporter, citizen of Tamenglong Tadimang Daimai, appreciated the government initiative to provide helicopter and MST service in remote hill district like Tamenglong.
