KSA bans recruitment of multi-tasking staff under Education (S)

IMPHAL | Sept 9 : Moirangthem Ranapratap alias Paikhomba alias Rana, who had been residing at the reserve lines of designated camp of surrendered cadres at Chothe, Bishnupur district, and been under process to join back mainstream, was picked up from the said camp by Bishnupur district commandos.

Father of Paikhomba, Moirangthem Tomei made the statement during a press conference held today at Manipur Press Club. He said Paikhomba had been staying in the camp since July 5 as there is due process to join mainstream.

On September 4 at about 7:04 pm, two team of Bishnupur commando team came at the camp and picked up Paikhomba stating that superintendent of police, Bishnupur want to talk about some matter. The commando team seized three mobile phone including two laptops, he informed. He further said that Paikhomba’s wife was made to sign at a blank paper including her phone number. Tomei further said that according to Paikhomba’s wife, the police informed her that he will be released by tomorrow.

When the family member asked the concern SP, he informed that he did not give the order to pick up Paikhomba as he is on leave. When the matter was further taken to the chief secretary, he said that he will look into the matter, Tomei added.

According to a local newspaper, Delhi Police Special Cell came to Bishnupur police campus and took him to Imphal West police headquarters. Later, he was formally arrested and produced before a magistrate, and transported to Delhi on September 6.

Tomei further said that when Paikhomba was brought to CJM, Imphal West, it was revealed that he had been arrested after serving arrest memo, that too with the consent of family members. It was also revealed that he was arrested under FIR-99/2018 under section 17/18/20.

He questioned how Paikhomba could make communications with KCP (Peoples War Group) leader, Khoirangba Khuman as he had been staying at the camp of surrendered cadres since three months ago. Tomei said that Paikhomba is not involved regarding the threats given to chief minister through social media and Paikhomba is under due process to join mainstream.

He appealed the state to release him and sent back to the said designated camp till the completion of process to join mainstream.
