IMPHAL | Jul 29 : An educational magazine on Manipur public administration called ‘Manipur Affairs’ was released today at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.
The book is edited by Soniya Thoidingjam and co-edited by Momota Thounaojam. It was released by Speaker of state legislative assembly, Yumnam Khemchand, former dean of School of Environmental Science of MU, W. Nabakumar Singh, deputy commissioner of Imphal West, N. Praveen Singh, ZEO of Wangoi, Yumnam Hemchandra, deputy conservator of Forest, Ajeeta Longjam and CID security Manipur, Jenee Thoidingjam.
Soniya said that the magazine focuses on all affairs of the state including polity, security, economy, agriculture, environment, science and technology, social, cultural, government schemes and international policies among others.
She also informed that materials collected are secondary and sourced from various state news print agencies and media.
In his deliberation as chief guest, Khemchand lauded the efforts of the magazine team to produce such a scholarly book. Some information in this magazine cannot be found easily by any person and would serve a great purpose, he opined.
He also said that he would like to keep some copies of the magazine in the assembly library and announced that he shall also extend some financial assistance for the next edition.
Nabakumar also said that the magazine is not only a welcoming edition for the state administration but also worth reading by all walks of life as it provides information and insights that all people including scholars and students aspire to.~IFP
