JIRIBAM, JULY 7, 2018 (DIPR): MAHUD and Town Planning Minister Shri Thounaojam Shyamkumar today directed the illegal encroachers to vacate from the proposed land for the construction of the toilet complex of the Jiribam Ima market. The Minister today inspected the Jiribam Ima market complex which is under-construction.
Addressing media persons, Minister Th. Shyamkumar said that legal notice will be served to the illegal encroachers to vacate the encroached land within 7 days. He also said that the illegally encroached area earlier had a toilet complex which was part of the old market. The State Government is planning to construct a new toilet complex at the said location of the newly under-constructed Jiribam Ima market.
He said the construction work of the Jiribam Ima market with a total capacity for 250 women vendors is on full swing to meet the completion target. Stating that the market complex will be incomplete without a toilet facility, he appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the Government so that developmental work can be undertaken smoothly.
Expressing hope that the construction work of Jiribam Ima market will be completed soon, the Minister said he will consult with the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh for the inauguration of the market complex.
Stating that the Jiribam Ima market has been constructed after razing the old market place at the cost of Rs 10 crore, Th. Shyamkumar hoped that the market complex will benefit the women vendors. It will be become one of the landmark area of the district, he added.
MAHUD and Town Planning Minister was accompanied by Shri Robert Kshetrimayum, Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam District, Smt. S. Shanti Devi, Chairperson, Jiribam Municipal Council, Shri M. Rajen Singh, MMAS, Executive Officer, Jiribam Municipal Council among others. (DIPR)
