Dimapur, September 26: The NSCN (IM) held a consultative meeting with the Eastern Sumi Hoho, Gaon Buras
and frontal organizations including Dimapur Eastern Sumi Union, Kohima Eastern Sumi Union and Kiphire Tuensang Students’ Union on Wednesday at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur. The GPRN was headed by Hukavi Yepthomi, Kilo Kilonser and Lieut. Gen. Anthony Shimray, Military Cross, Longvibu, Naga Army.
A MIP GPRN release said today’s consultation was a call for sharing and understanding the political issue at hand so that the Nagas harvest the deserving national aspirations.
The Eastern Sumi Hoho leadership conveyed that they are with the GPRN and will always stand with the Nagas. The Eastern Sumi Hoho at the same time appeal for separation from the United Sangtam Region and to grant them a separate Eastern Sumi Region under the GPRN.
The release said the GPRN led by the Kilo Kilonser and theLongvibu has been endlessly reaching out to the Nagas following the signing of the Framework Agreement between the Naga leaders and the Government of India. A number of Naga tribal Hohos has become friendlier and better acquainted with the progress of the Indo-Naga peace process, it said.
The GPRN leaders reminded the delegates and all that the Nagas’ politics is based on the principle of our faith in Christ and assured that the dignity and pride of the Nagas shall be restored through the Framework Agreement, and appealed the Naga brethren to set aside sectarian interest and work in unity to achieve our national goal together. They further conveyed that a solution to the Indo-Naga conflict will be equally beneficial to India too. (Page News Service)
