IMPHAL | Apr 12 : Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Laishram Radhakisore today announced that from May 1, fines and punishments will be imposed to individuals whose bikes are installed with modified power exhausts pipes. He made this announcement with an aim to curb noise pollution in the city.
He informed that an order has been issued in the beginning of the year to ban and punish those whose vehicles cause noise pollution with over 80 decibels (db), and these power silencers emit 120-130 db.
It earlier set March 31 to remove silencer pipes for owners of Royal Enfield bullets. Radhakisore said that the date has been extended to April 30 and informed that by May 1, fines and punishment will be imposed which causes noise pollution in the city area.~IFP
