Public meeting held at Thoubal and Pallel against Naga Framework Agreement

THOUBAL | Aug 11 : Public meetings were held today at Thoubal bazaar and Pallel bazaar demanding that Article 371 (a) must not be extended to Manipur as a part of the resolution to Naga Framework Agreement between India and NSCN-IM.

The public meeting organised by United People’s Front (UPF), Manipur, Thoubal District Council, All Manipur Students Union (AMSU), Thoubal, IMA, and Thoubal Keithel Apunba Lup was attended by students.

President UPF, W. Second stated that bringing a resolution between Indian government and NSCN-IM is welcomed by the people. Though the details of the agreement have not been revealed to the public, it has been known to the public from the words of interlocutor, RN. There are high chances that article 371 (a), which is already implemented to Nagaland, will be extended to Naga settled areas of Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, he said.
