Rajnath Singh promises safe environment for Northeast students

Guwahati, September 9: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh  assured the students of the Northeast to Delhi of providing them safe environment with better opportunities.

He was speaking at the Nest Fest in New Delhi on Saturday to welcome fresh students from the Northeast to Delhi.

Singh said, the Narendra Modi government is committed to increase communication and linkage as well as mobility in the Northeast region. He said, “Prime Minister wants speedy development of the region and stressed that India can only develop when the Northeast develops.”

It may be mentioned that three Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled Northeastern states- Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur – faced protests and sloganeering at a public talk organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad at Koyna Hostel Mess of the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus in New Delhi recently.

“Glad to interact with the youth from North East India at the NESt. Fest in New Delhi. The youth from the North East are extremely talented and they have tremendous potential. The NDA government is working towards giving them a safe environment with better opportunities (sic),” Rajnath tweeted.
