After 15 months, ADC Ukhrul witnessed another change of guard with Dr. Yaronsho Ngalung being elected as the new chairman of ADC Ukhrul replacing Dickson Kamkara.
A farewell for the outgoing chairman cum felicitation function for the incoming Chairman ADC Ukhrul was held today at Town Hall, Ukhrul.
Dickson Kamkara was elected as chairman of ADC Ukhrul on August 29, 2017 after the acceptance of his resignation tender by Dr. Yaronsho Ngalung by the governor of Manipur from the chairmanship of ADC Ukhrul on August 14, 2017.
Presiding officer and member of ADC Ukhrul,Paothing Vashum conducted the election for the new chairman at the office of ADC Ukhrul, while CEO, ADC, Ukhrul Polly Makan was the returning officer. Dr. Yaronsho Ngalung was elected uncontested as chairman by the ADC Members of Ukhrul.
Dickson Kamkara congratulated Dr. Yaronsho Ngalung for successfully coming back as the leader of the house. He declared his allegiance and promised to extend all possible help to the leader of the house in smooth functioning and running of the administration.
While acknowledging the positive steps and achievement taken up by the outgoing chairman,Dr. Yaronsho Ngalung, in his speech,thanked the ADC Members, Long leaders and officers present during the programme. He appealed the people to extend support and continue to give co-operation in the days to come.
The new chairman will hold the chairmanship of ADC Ukhrul for a maximum period of 16 months, unless there is another change of guard. Dr. Yaronsho Ngalung was elected as the first chairman of the present tenure and he was replaced by Dickson Kamkara. Today, Dr. Yaronsho Ngalung made a strong comeback to reclaim the Chairmanship for the second term. The present tenure will complete its term in 2020 and election for the new tenure is likely to be held on May 2020.
