DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 9 (MExN): Dung Hee Township in the Naga Self Administered Zone of Myanmar has been under the grip of an unknown communicable disease since the second week of August, with cases continuously increasing till date.
Reports informed that the symptoms of the disease includes increase of body temperature, nose bleeding and loose motion.
According to a press release issued by the Media, Information and Publicity Secretary of the Makury Naga Youth Federation, Thongtsühmiu Jongs Isidore, the death toll till now is 7, all aged below 18 years. He further informed that the Eastern Naga Development Organization (ENDO), a locally based NGO is in the station trying its best with very limited aid. It was added that around 1000 villagers are at risk due to the outbreak of the disease.
