IMPHAL | Jun 11: The stance of political alliance group, Manipur Democratic Alliance against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) has not changed. The alliance will go as per the interest of the people, said convenor of Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA), M. Tombi.
He was speaking at a press meet held yesterday at the office of Shiv Sena, Babupara. He said that the alliance party organised a meeting and discussed about CAB. The steps for opposing CAB if it returns to the parliament have been laid out during the meeting. As per the circumstance, the alliance will go to Delhi to pressure the Central government so that the Manipur People’s Bill may be passed.
He also mentioned Cabinet minister, Rajnath’s statement given to MDA for protection of Manipur people from CAB. He expressed his hope that Rajnath will not go against his assurance given to MDA.
M. Tombi left Imphal today morning for Delhi and Mumbai to discuss the present political scenario of Manipur.
