I give my revolutionary salute to all the martyrs. Greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
It is imperative for every member of NSCN to understand the political concept that inspires and guides the Nagas in their national resistance movement and how it has brought them this far. Our political concept begins from our unique history. Our history is unique because the Nagas have been a sovereign independent people from the very beginning of world history. Our history is unique as we have neither been a part of Union of India nor that of Myanmar, either by conquest of the two powers or by consent of the Nagas.

Principles – the foundation of our nationhood:
NSCN understands that everything comes and exists on its own principle and nothing exists outside it. NSCN was built on the foundation of Naga national principles. And the objectives of Manifesto of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) is mainly to safeguard and maintain the fundamental principles of sovereign independent Christian socialist democratic republic of Nagalim founded on the solid ground of our centuries-old social system and modern socio-political scenario. NSCN understands that as everything comes and exists on its principle, so do the peoples and nations. Sovereignty is not something to be borrowed from or granted by others, but it is an inherent right of every people. We should be aware of the fact that sovereignty has the power to make and unmake things. The Naga people are also a sovereign people by right. The Nagas must be able to exercise their sovereign rights independent of others, so that they may grow into the fullest human size and develop materially in all fields. Physical, mental and spiritual developments of free individuals or free people are chiefly driven by the dynamic spirit of right to self-determination, not dependent on others. Exercise of one’s sovereign power independent of others through the spirit of self-determination is an inbuilt and this is the principle of survival politics.

Policy and strategy:
Principles do not go alone; they always go along with policy, program and strategy. Targets are naturally materialized through objective-based policies and strategies of the committed leadership of an organization or government. Victory of any battle – military, political or economy, depends on correct policy, correct strategy and correct leadership. Our policies are national salvationoriented. The sole purposes of our strategies are how to safeguard our sovereign rights, our land, our identity, our history and above all our people from the dangers of subjugation, suppression and assimilation by aggressors of any forms. Any organization or government that does not have objective-based policies and strategies often meets defeat and failure. Policies and strategies of NSCN are always visible in action and it is not something that exists in imagination.

Nagalim for Christ:
It is said, “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness; the world and those who dwell therein.” It is also said, “All things are created through Him and for Him.” Accept it or not, all peoples and nations without exception belong to Him. It is a matter of time – who comes first and who comes last to the Lord, the Creator. It is understood that all nations and kingdoms comes from the word of God and nothing exists outside it. Nagas are also the Lord’s people. Nagalim for Christ is a Covenant of God with the Nagas and commitment of the Nagas to Him. It is one of the guiding principles of the Nagas.

The power of prayer:
NSCN trusts in the power of prayer. We are fully convinced of the invincible power of prayer that works in the military front, political front, financial front, negotiating front and in all fronts. Our trust comes from the marvelous name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Creator of all things. Prayer can make and unmake things. Every member of NSCN should to be a praying man or woman. Prayer is a dynamic force of the believers, and not superstition of the feeble mind as alleged by the materialists. Prayer connects with the mighty powerhouse of God.

Nagas are a community-oriented society:
Nagas are a community-oriented people. They walk together in all fields in the spirit of community. Their land holding system is such that there are private lands, clans’ lands and community’s lands. NSCN understands it is the spirit of our land, our people, our community and our nation that sustains the Nagas this far. The day they drop this social spirit, they will fall apart into many pieces to be subdued by others. Democracy is the socio-political institution of human being. It is the soul of social life. Nagas are also a democratic people. For them, democracy is not an imported concept from outside. Every social activity of the Naga community is done by social consent, the essence of democracy. No law is made or passed autocratically by any authority or authorities without consent of the people. NSCN is for a democratic social set-up. NSCN has been practicing the culture of collective decision making since its inception. All social problems are solved through discussion and consent. Nagas are bound together by the cords of the socio-political and economic spirits. NSCN upholds the spirit and culture of the community-oriented society and it will do so in all times to come.

Sovereign state:
NSCN cannot think of a developed Nagalim without a sovereign state. Sovereign state is a giant machine that can make and unmake things except man. Mankind has been combatting nature for centuries to subduing it through the state. In fact, man has now become the master of the land, the air, the sea and the planets. Peace and progress in the land without a sovereign government and state is a wishful thinking. We may be rich; we may be educated or we may be in high social position, but we will be reduced to a hopeless and helpless people or individuals without identity if our Naga national identity is not recognized by the aggressor states and the world. We may be brave and strong in many ways; we may be wise or we may be as numerous as the sand, but we can never subdue nature if we are not organized into a state. We must try to conquer nature through the power of a sovereign state and develop our country through it. The Lord says, “I have put everything under the feet of man.” Indeed, the Nagas need a sovereign state. And that is where NSCN stands today.

Framework Agreement:
The Naga people have come to know the deception of high sounding promises of the aggressor states. They have realized that they are not safe in the so-called 16-point Agreement, The Shillong Accord or in any other so-called states under Indian constitution. Therefore, they continue their resistance movement in defense of their future. Every member of NSCN was a fighting force in the time of war. We NSCN fought the enemies in the military front; we did our best in mobilizing the world on Naga issue in the international arena; our administration embraces all Nagas and their territories. But confrontation cannot go on and on without giving chance to negotiation. We must have dialogue with the Government of India. The Nagas need agreements with the Government of India and the Government of Myanmar that will recognize our unique history, sovereignty, land, identity, culture and their state. After having series of political talks with the Government of India, the two parties have finally signed the historic Framework Agreement on 3rd of August 2015, on the basis of unique history and situation of the Nagas. Among others, it speaks about the Naga sovereignty, identity and territories. However, Nagas and Indians will peacefully and harmoniously co-exist as two entities sharing sovereign powers. The Framework Agreement is the foundation for final settlement.

Influx of illegal immigrants and refugees:
History says illegal immigrants and refugees are agents of colonial powers. We must know how they were used by the colonial powers in the past in colonizing other peoples’ lands and how many indigenous peoples and nations were marginalized and swallowed up by the colonial powers through immigrant and refugee politics. The governments of India and Myanmar are playing the same game. The specter of the illegal immigrants and refugees is already looming large in our country. Rohingya refugees and illegal Chin – Kuki immigrants and refugees from Myanmar; a large number of Chakma refugees and illegal Muslim immigrants from Bangladesh and illegal settlers and non-indigenous people from the Indian sub-continent have flooded the Naga country. They are like time bombs waiting to explode one day or the other if we do not take necessary steps to deal with it in the right time. We need agreements with the governments of India and Myanmar and strong laws should be enacted to protect our people, our identity, our rights and our land from these impending dangers.

Virus of divisionism:
The virus of divisionism and factionalism will eat into the vitality of the issue of sovereign independent Nagalim if we do not give the right treatment to it before it is too late. There is no doubt about it that the objective of mushroom growth of factions is nothing, but to pull back the wheels of history. No one should nourish the false hope of building a sovereign independent state out of the debris of broken Nagalim. That will never happen. That is what the enemies have been looking for. When NSCN says Nagalim, it embraces all Nagas and their territories. The Government of India too has recognized that reality. We must value what we have achieved.

Doctrine of co-existence of peoples and nations:
All things are so created by the Lord that they are closely interrelated and interdependent on each other and that nothing exists in total isolation. NSCN stands for the doctrine of harmonious interdependent relationship with other peoples and nations in all fields. Coexistence with others on the basis of mutual respect and recognition of rights and identities is the law. Maintaining harmonious relationships with others is a political necessity, not a choice. NSCN looks forward to having good relationships with our neighbors on the basis of this principle.

Long live NSCN! Long live Nagalim!
