IMPHAL |Jul 27: Students staying in residential boarding of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur today along with their guardians and volunteers of All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) collected all their belongings from their respective rooms.
The move was made following the mysterious death of a class VII student named Ningthoujam Babysana inside a dormitory of the boarding on July 18.
As many as 100 students studying in various standards took away their belongings. A total of 147 inmates were staying in the boarding. It is said that the room where the incident happened remained untouched as it is as requested by the JAC formed in connection with the death of the student.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the event, secretary general, AMSU, Bipinchandra Ahanthem said that the belongings including mattresses, books, uniforms, etc. were taken out as per resolution adopted during the joint meeting of parents or guardians of students staying in the school boarding, AMSU and local Meira Paibis on July 25 at Ima Khunthokhanbi Shanglen.
While noting that the mysterious death of the girl student has become a very sensitive issue, he urged the government to bring out a solution by ensuring justice at the earliest.Babysana murder case Standard Robarth boarding school
