IMPHAL | Aug 2: Minister of Tribal Affairs and Hills, N. Kayishii today launched mobile dispensary vans, ambulances, pension cell and conference hall at directorate of Tribal Affairs and Hills today.
Delivering his speech as the chief guest, Kayishii said that the conference hall was a long cherished dream of the department for proper conduct and transaction of office duties and responsibilities effectively. But the department was not able to have it for so many years due to financial constraint.
Stating that he will continue to work for the welfare of the department in all possible aspects on priority, he also said that the Tribal Affairs and Hill department should be at par with other departments of the state though it was not taken care of satisfactorily.
He said that the ambulance will also help in transporting patients from different corners of the State though there was only one DI truck serving the purpose in different districts and the pension cell will provide pension to all employees who are employed before 2006.
The launch of the pension cell will motivate the employees of district council’s to work sincerely and with a dedication, he added.
He further said that he is working hard to provide pensions for ex members of district councils like the states of Tripura and Meghalaya.
Speaking as the functional president, director of Tribal Affairs and Hills A. Arthur Worchuiyo said that the pension cell will serve the requirement of the autonomous district council employees who were deprived of their pensioner benefits and further request the cooperation of the staffs in rendering the service to the pensioner.
Additional chief secretary of TA and H, Letkhogin Haokip during his speech as the guest of honor questioned whether the department really serveed the purpose and needs of the tribals and appealed the office staff to guide and serve the people who came to the office.
