IMPHAL | Jul 7: Ukhrul Public School beat Reliance Academy, Imphal East by a solitary goal in the U-17 Boys category of the State Inter School Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament 2019 organised by Youth Affairs & Sports at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

The lone goal for Ukhrul team was scored by Changwung in the second half play of match for the victory today.

However, a sad irony unfolded in the first half closing moment as one of the player of Reliance Academy had to be carried out of the field, after a foul by the opponent team and his skipper had to huddled in his back due to lack of a stretcher. The organiser of the Youth Affairs & Sports seem to be perplexed on the incident as they searched for the stretcher boys in the latter part of the game.

In the other matches of the day, MT Zion Senior Secondary School drubbed Pretty Lamb Institute by 11-0 goals. Thangkhanglen topscored with four goals while Puthoukho Samuel, Veisalon fetched two goal each, N.Soudou, Daili and Shayam chipped in with a goal each.

HM English School, Churchandpur thrashed Kamjong High School by 7-0 goals. John Kamsuanmang scored four goals while Lalsiem pick up two goals and Kamsanglen fetched a goal.

JRD Pathseeker Academy, Kakching beat Jiribam Higher Secondary School by 2-1 goals while Little Master English Higher Secondary School, Imphal West and Thinungei Phubala High School  settled for a goalless draw to share a point each.

As for the U-14 Boys played at Practice Ground Khuman Lampak, Christian Grammar School, Tamenglong was awarded walkover point as Tengkonjang Higher Secondary School, Noney failed to report for the match in time. Later, the organiser scratched off Noney School from the tournament.

In the other matches, Themzan Academy, Ukhrul blanked Parbung Government Higher Secondary School by 3-0 goals. Yuimi Kamkara, Leiyapam Tallanao and Samsui AK scored a goal each for Ukhrul team.

Unique Model Academy, Imphal East beat Educational Training School, Kangpokpi by 3-2 goals while St.Peter School, Chandel drubbed Kamjong High School, Ukhrul by 7-0 goals and Heinoukhomg R School and The New Model English School, Thoubal settled for a goalless draw to share a point each.
